Rutgers Hires Drake's Joe Evans as Assistant Defensive Line Coach

Rutgers has hired former Drake defensive line coach Joe Evans to join their defensive coaching staff as an assistant.

Rutgers football has added former Drake defensive line coach Joe Evans to their staff as an assistant defensive line coach. Evans will work under new defensive line coach Dennis Dottin-Carter, joining former Drake coaches Joe Woodley and Adam Cox on Rutgers' defensive unit.

Evans had a standout career at Iowa, recording 135 tackles, 35 tackles for loss, and 28 sacks. He notably recorded four sacks against Rutgers in a 2022 matchup. After college, he spent a brief stint on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad in 2024 before joining Drake's staff for one season.
