Chicago Fire Breaks Ground on $750M Stadium in South Loop

Chicago Fire FC officially broke ground Tuesday on a new $750 million stadium in the South Loop, set to open before the 2028 MLS season.

The privately funded venue will sit in the "The 78" development along the Chicago River and hold just over 22,000 fans. It features a natural grass pitch, 360-degree sightlines, and a dedicated supporters' section.

Club owner Joe Mansueto has invested over $1 billion into the franchise since 2019. The project marks the first major professional stadium built in Chicago in over three decades.
