Forward finally returns from injury after months away

An exciting forward has returned from injury.

Injuries have undoubtedly played a role in Liverpool's success this season.

The Reds have been wracked by them this season, not necessarily by volume but more so by devastating long-term injuries to key stars.

Arne Slot can lament a number of blows that have hampered his ability to put out his best line-up. Especially in the forward line.

Currently, Alexander Isak is out for the foreseeable future which has led to a lot of the burden of scoring falling on Hugo Ekitike's shoulders.

The Frenchman is still young and he's done well in Isak's absence, but he would clearly benefit from a rest.

The problem is that right now Slot doesn't really have anyone else to call upon in order to play that no.9 role.

With Champions League games and FA Cup matches coming up, that is a concern. However, thankfully, Liverpool do have a massive boost coming.

The big reason why such a burden has had to fallen on Ekitike is because Liverpool don't even have a third back-up striker. Well, they do but he's been injured for over five months now.

Jayden Danns is well liked by Slot. He is extremely highly rated by the club's coaching staff and he is a bit of a cult hero amongst the fans.

Any player who averages a goal every 69 minutes he spends on the pitch for the first team and played a key part in a Wembley League Cup triumph against Chelsea, will be very well liked by the fans. Especially, a boyhood fans, who is also a scouser.

However, he has been plagued by injuries over the course of the last season and a half.

This has seen him miss most of the season so far.

However, This is Anfield shared some exciting news with the site claiming that Danns will be returning to training this week.

That's the news we needed after a bleary defeat to Wolves.
