Night 5 of the 2026 Premier League of Darts will take place in Cardiff, Wales.

Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price will play in front of their home crowd this week, and if this week is half of what we witnessed in Belfast last week, we're in for a treat.

There's a lot to look forward to, so let's break down everything you need to know ahead of Night 5 in Cardiff.

Night 5 match predictions

Here are my predictions for a stacked slate on Night 5.

*Semifinals and final listed below are my predictions based on the quarterfinals

Quarterfinal 1: Michael van Gerwen vs. Luke Humphries

Winner: Luke Humphries, 6-3

Humphries has consistently produced averages in the high 90s and into the mid 100s in 2026, but was on the wrong end of a match against Stephen Bunting last week.

Humphries lost 4-6 despite averaging 106.29, but I'd like to think his consistency will play in his favor as he plays a somewhat streaky MVG this week.

By no means has MVG been poor this year; he's been the opposite, but Humphries is a safe player to pick, with a higher floor in recent matches.

Quarterfinal 2: Gian van Veen vs. Jonny Clayton

Winner: Gian van Veen, 6-5

Entering Night 5, these are the two players who stand at the top of the table.

It's something most people probably wouldn't have seen coming, but we could be in for a treat in the second match of the night.

Van Veen and Clayton have each won twice against one another.

Between both players, they've won 7/8 quarterfinal matches through four nights, so the consistency is there, but in what appears to be a 50/50 match, I have van Veen grabbing a narrow win.

Quarterfinal 3: Gerwyn Price vs. Stephen Bunting

Winner: Stephen Bunting, 6-4

Bunting ended his winless 2026 PL streak last week and now has momentum and pressure off his shoulders.

Instead of chasing the minimum (winning just one game), he has a real chance to make a push for the play-off positions this week, and I see him continuing his PL win streak by spoiling Price's homecoming night.

Quarterfinal 4: Luke Littler vs. Josh Rock

Winner: Josh Rock, 6-5

We all know how good Rock can be, and I think the PL jitters have taken over recently.

He's bound to find his form, and I believe he can do what Bunting did last week, which is produce a stellar opening game to get back on track.

It won't be easy, though, as he plays Littler, but he hasn't exactly had a great start himself, so they're in somewhat similar positions.

Semifinal 1: Luke Humphries vs. Gian van Veen

Winner: Luke Humphries, 6-5

Outside of a dominant win at the World Masters, van Veen has gotten the most of Humphries in every other match since the beginning of 2025.

With the PL format, anything can happen, and Humphries is a world-class player, so history seems irrelevant here, as long as Humphries produces a game consistent with what we expect from him.

It'll be another close one, but I have Humphries winning the latest battle this time around, in this entertaining rivalry.

Semifinal 2: Stephen Bunting vs. Josh Rock

Winner: Josh Rock, 6-4

A flip of the coin could decide this one, as both players are wild cards with how they've performed recently.

However, I like Rock's chances as a quarterfinal win could give him the confidence he needs to win another game, as we saw with Bunting last week.

Final: Luke Humphries vs. Josh Rock

Winner: Luke Humphries, 6-3

These two players entered the night with a combined four points through four weeks, and have the chance to combine for eight points on Night 5 alone, if they meet in the final.

I've been big on Humphries recently, and he would enter this contest with a four-match win streak against Rock, as he's outscored him 28-11 in legs during that stretch of play.

Three storylines to watch during Night 5

Here are the main storylines to look out for on Night 5.

Can Rock use Night 4 nine-darter in front of home fans to his advantage?

Rock is the last remaining player with zero wins so far, but he'll have some momentum heading into this week, after a memorable homecoming in Belfast last week.

Will van Veen or Clayton win the clash of top seeds?

Clayton will look to extend his lead on van Veen early on, but van Veen has the opportunity to hold Clayton to zero points, and at minimum tie him on the table with a QF win.

Can Clayton or Price have a memorable homecoming night?

The World Cup pair will look to have a special run of their own, as they return to Wales to play in front of their home fans.
