One of the Washington Wizards‘ two major trade acquisitions is finally set to hit the court.
Trae Young will make his team debut on Thursday at home against the Utah Jazz, the point guard announced on Instagram Monday.
The 27-year-old Young last played on Dec. 27 while with the Atlanta Hawks. He has been out since with an MCL sprain and a thigh bruise.
Young has been dealing with lingering leg injuries all season, playing in just 10 games while averaging just 19.1 points and 8.9 assists per game, both the lowest since his rookie campaign in 2018-19.
He was acquired via trade from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert on Jan. 9 after being a constant topic of trade discussions.
Washington later added Anthony Davis in a trade-deadline deal with the Dallas Mavericks.
The 32-year-old Davis last played on Jan. 8 due to ligament damage in his hand.
The Wizards sit 13th in the Eastern Conference at 16-43. They have lost four straight games entering Monday’s action.
