West Ham secured a 3-1 victory over Portsmouth in the Carabao Cup first round, with other matches decided by penalty shootouts.

West Ham advanced to the next round of the Carabao Cup with a commanding 3-1 win against Portsmouth. Meanwhile, the only 2pm kick-off saw QPR and Millwall play out a goalless draw at Loftus Road, with Rangers enjoying most possession but failing to break the deadlock.
