NCAA Probes Cincinnati Over Sorsby Gambling

The NCAA has opened a formal inquiry into the University of Cincinnati regarding former quarterback Brendan Sorsby's gambling investigation during his two seasons with the program.

The NCAA sent an official letter of inquiry to Cincinnati to determine what the university knew about Sorsby's gambling issues. Cincinnati coach Scott Satterfield declined to comment on reports about the letter of inquiry. A university spokesperson stated they have "had continuous conversations with the NCAA" and "do not believe any athletics official or staff member was aware of any impermissible sports wagering." Sorsby, who was considered a top prospect, transferred to Texas Tech after his time at Cincinnati but was cut by the school after his NCAA ban.
