Illinois fires softball head coach Tyra Perry

Illinois Athletics Director Josh Whitman has fired head coach Tyra Perry after 11 seasons, citing recent struggles and a need for new leadership.

Whitman stated that while Perry served admirably and led the Illini to multiple NCAA postseason appearances early in her tenure, the program failed to sustain that success in recent years.
