The Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed a bipartisan bill 178-23 that would allow the PIAA to create separate playoff brackets for public and private high schools.

The legislation aims to level the playing field by addressing concerns that private schools have an unfair competitive advantage due to wider recruiting nets. While the bill does not mandate the separation, it removes a legal hurdle for the PIAA to adopt separate playoffs.
