Iowa athletics director Beth Goetz said the university is negotiating a contract extension for head coach Ben McCollum following a 24‑win season and the program’s first Elite Eight appearance since 1987.

Iowa AD Beth Goetz confirmed to the Des Moines Register that the university is working on a contract extension with head men's basketball coach Ben McCollum after the Hawkeyes’ 24‑win season and Elite Eight run. Goetz said they are making adjustments to his agreement, including higher pay and more years, and will announce the deal once finalized.
