UNC Names Michael Malone Head Coach

The University of North Carolina has hired former Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone on a six‑year, $50 million deal, giving him an average annual salary of $8.33 million.

UNC’s new head coach, Michael Malone, brings NBA championship experience to the Tar Heels but is the first head‑coach in college for him. The deal places him second‑highest paid in men’s college basketball, behind Kansas’ Bill Self.
