Heisman winner and presumptive No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza will not attend the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, opting instead to watch from his home in Miami.

Mendoza is projected to be selected first by the Las Vegas Raiders. This marks the first time a No. 1 pick has skipped the event since Travon Walker in 2022. The quarterback has emphasized the importance of his family, particularly his mother, as he prepares for the next chapter of his career.
