Bangladesh Cricket Board crisis deepens with seven director resignations

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) faces a deepening crisis with seven directors resigning amid allegations of political interference and election malpractice.

The crisis within the Bangladesh Cricket Board has intensified, with seven of 25 directors resigning before completing six months in office. The latest departures, including Saniyan Taneem, Mehrab Alam, Faiazur Rahman, and Manjurul Alam, occurred on April 4 following a board meeting.

Despite the mass exodus, BCB president Aminul Islam remains defiant, stating he will be the "last person to go." He defended his administration against allegations of political interference and malpractice, claiming an "external force" has hindered their work. The resignations come as a government investigation into last year's election report is submitted.
