Badosa Gets Wild Card for Linz Open After Charleston Run

Paula Badosa secured a wild card entry into the inaugural WTA 250 Linz Open in Austria after a solid showing at the Charleston Open, where she reached the round of 16 before losing to Anna Kalinskaya. The 27‑year‑old Spaniard, ranked 102, will use the opportunity to gain points and close the gap to the top 100.

The tournament, running from April 6‑12, features a field with only eight top‑40 players, offering Badosa a chance to string together another stretch of wins. Wild cards were also awarded to Mirra Andreeva and Lilli Tagger, but Badosa remains the most high‑profile newcomer.
