Liverpool Leoni Return Expected This Month

Liverpool's £26m defender Giovanni Leoni is expected to return to first-team training by the end of April after recovering from an ACL injury sustained on his debut.

Leoni, signed from Parma last summer, tore his ACL in his first appearance against Southampton. The 19-year-old Italian is now on course to resume training with the squad by the end of April, according to reports from Mondo Primavera.

The club is planning a defensive overhaul, with Ibrahima Konate potentially moving to Real Madrid and contracts for Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk expiring in 2027. Liverpool has already signed Ifeanyi Ndukwe and Jeremy Jacquet to join in summer.
