Kiffin Keeps Blake Baker to Strengthen LSU Defense

Lane Kiffin said LSU will keep defensive coordinator Blake Baker, who helped lift the defense to No.12 in SP+ in 2025, emphasizing continuity and growth.

During spring practice, Kiffin highlighted Baker’s impact, noting the defense’s jump from one of the program’s worst to a top‑15 unit in 2025. Baker, who joined in 2024, has already earned an extension after delivering immediate results.

Kiffin stressed that retaining Baker preserves continuity, allowing the Tigers to build on a strong foundation and aim for a more physical, turnover‑heavy defense in the coming seasons.
