Padres, Stammen Secure First Wins

San Diego Padres secured their first win of the season on Saturday, with manager Craig Stammen notching his first career victory and closer Mason Miller recording his first save.

Randy Vasquez delivered a strong performance for the Padres, pitching six scoreless innings while allowing only two hits with eight strikeouts. Fernando Tatis Jr. contributed with an RBI single in the third inning that put San Diego on the board.

The victory was particularly meaningful as it marked the first win for both the Padres in the young season and for first-year manager Craig Stammen. Miller entered with a 3-0 lead in the ninth, walked one batter, then struck out rookie Kevin McGonigle to secure the save and complete the series victory.
