Itauma Stops Franklin in Fifth Round, Eyes Usyk

Moses Itauma stopped Jermaine Franklin in the fifth round at Manchester's Co‑op Live Arena, adding a 12th stoppage to his 14‑fight record and raising his 86% knockout rate.

The 21‑year‑old Briton methodically dismantled the American, landing crisp combinations and a decisive uppercut that ended Franklin’s 27‑fight unbeaten streak in the fifth round. The victory marked Itauma’s 12th stoppage in 14 professional bouts, boosting his knockout percentage to 86 %.

With the win, Itauma’s name has entered several world‑title rankings and he has expressed a desire to face unified champion Oleksandr Usyk. Promoter Frank Warren confirmed the heavyweight will return to the ring in July, while Itauma says he will “sit and wait my turn” for a title shot.
