Brewers Reportedly Promote Catching Prospect Quero

The Milwaukee Brewers are reportedly promoting 23-year-old catching prospect Jeferson Quero to the majors for his MLB debut just one game into the regular season.

Sources indicate the move comes just ahead of the second game of the year. Quero, who missed significant time in 2024 due to shoulder surgery and a hamstring issue in spring training, is expected to take the roster spot of either William Contreras or Gary Sanchez, who may be placed on the injured list.

A career .275 hitter with 16 home runs in the pitcher-friendly Southern League last season, Quero is viewed as having everyday potential behind the plate.
