NBA Proposes Three Anti-Tanking Measures

The NBA presented three potential reforms to its draft lottery on Wednesday to combat the issue of tanking.

The league proposed three concepts: an 18-team lottery with flattened odds, a 22-team lottery based on two-year records, or a five-by-five lottery. Commissioner Adam Silver stated the changes will likely happen before next season.

A vote is expected in May. The measures aim to stop teams from intentionally losing games to secure higher draft picks, with Silver confirming unanimous agreement among owners that a change is necessary.
