Scruggs to Start as Lions' Center

Juice Scruggs will be the Lions' starting center on Sunday against the Saints after Cade Mays was placed on injured reserve.

Scruggs, who was viewed as a throw-in in the Montgomery trade, has surprised by stepping into the starting role. The former Texans player started eight games at center for Houston and is getting more comfortable in the position despite initially working at guard in Detroit.
