Rygte: The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past og Warlock "vandt" Gamescom

Nu er det svært at vurdere hvilke konkrete spil der "vandt" folkets gunst på Gamescom, men én metrik man kan bruge til om ikke andet at male en del af det samlede billede, er antallet af wishlists på Steam.

Det har Alinea gjort, og ved at kigge på tallene vurdere de, at The Witcher 3-udvidelsens Songs of the Past har "vundet", dog tæt fulgt af Warlock. Begge spil fik en længere demonstration under Opening Night Live, der lader til at have en afgørende virkning på antallet af wishlists.

"The top spot wasn't a game at all. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's upcoming expansion, Songs of the Past, nabbed #1 with 451K Steam wishlists by the end of the weekend. It debuted at Opening Night Live, and it's the first Witcher 3 expansion in over a decade, landing next year after a full Witcher 3 remaster (free for existing owners!) arrives next month."

"Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons, published by Wizards of the Coast and developed by Invoke Studios (a team of ex-Far Cry, Watch Dogs, and Splinter Cell devs), took #2. It's due to launch in 2027, and it looks brilliant so far. It's a dark-fantasy open world with third-person spell-slinging. It's a very Witcher-ish aesthetic. As you might expect, 48% of Warlock's Steam wishlisters have played Baldur's Gate 3, and 46% have played The Witcher 3. One to watch. For sure!"

Som sagt er dette upræcis videnskab, men noget tyder på at begge projekter er kommet godt fra start.
