Steelers first-round pick Max Iheanachor remains out of practice with no timeline for return
When Steelers rookie offensive tackle Max Iheanachor suffered an injury at practice last week, head coach Mike McCarthy indicated he would be back by Monday. That has proven not to be the case.
Today McCarthy told reporters that Iheanachor remains out of practice, and there's no timeline for him to return.
That could indicate that the injury Iheanachor suffered, which has been termed a neck/shoulder injury, is more serious than originally thought. But it could also just be that the Steelers want to be cautious with their first-round draft pick.
The Steelers open the preseason on Thursday against the Packers, and while there's no official word on whether Iheanachor will play, it seems unlikely that he'll be on the field Thursday if he can't go today.
Hopkins Accuses Keim of PED Set Up
In a deleted post, former Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins accused former general manager Steve Keim of setting up his PED test. Hopkins stated: "I got set up when I played for his team and lost 13 million. Skeme Slime was my GM, contaminated drug test go figure how that happened."
Hopkins lost $5.2 million due to a six-game suspension during the 2022 season. He did not elaborate on why he believed he was set up or Keim's involvement.
Report: Falcons agree to sign DE Cameron Sample
The Falcons are bringing in some depth along their defensive line.
Per Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, Atlanta has agreed to sign edge rusher Cameron Sample.
Sample, 26, was a Bengals fourth-round pick in the 2021 draft. He appeared in 61 games with five starts for Cincinnati over five seasons, missing 2024 due to a torn Achilles.
In 2025, he registered 2.0 sacks with two tackles for loss and six quarterback hits in 14 games.
Sample had signed with the 49ers in April, but was released last week.
